Do I look like a druid? What's up with these totems?
Totems getting them is easy. Upgrading them is a bitch. This is the main totem screen, pretty straight forward, click challenge as many times as you can until you die painfully.
From this page, you can also access the totem shop. There you will find all the basic blue and purple totems and the mats you need to upgrade totems. Note: only garent and above can be upgraded.
Moving on... the alter tab, during battles (or in events) you can get sacrifice points. In order to keep people from going crazy, the cost increases every 10 cards. 1St ten draws cost you 200, next will be 300, then 400 etc.

On the Alter page, you'll also see a button called "totem diagrams" if you click it, it shows all the currently avalable totems, where they can be found and the effects they have at different levels.
Early game, most people choose the garnet healing totem (they mail you one after you complete level one or you can buy it in the totem shop).
Since healing totems are useless in some cases (WB/Gauntlet) most people also choose a secondary totem to level. Dragonlord for rage or Fire for dps are commom.
Later in the game you need to decide if you want to keep evolving the healing totem or move on to another. It's bloody expensive to level them to topaz and ruby so most people start focusing on just one.
Sooo, you know how I said getting ruby totems was a pain? Here's why. Getting the mats from the shop isn't too horrible, what makes you cry is that in order to evolve a totem you need to basically sacrifice one of the same level. So let's say I've decided I want to use the fire totem and get it to Ruby. That means I need the following:
A level 30 garnet fire totem. A 2nd level 30 fire totem to sacrifice, and some evolution stones from the shop.
That will get me one Topaz level 30 totem. I now need to level it to 40, and you guessed it have another lv 40 topaz to sacifice. So you end up needing four more level 30 garent totems, then you merge them into two level 40 topaz to get the one ruby. Fun, fun times.
Sadly, leveling them is important, since you not only get a decent stat boost, you also rank up the skill. Which gives you a more powerful effect and 2 more turns active.
